Details:Welcome to Beth Jehudah! We are delighted by your interest in our synagogue and our community. It's a way of life For many people, Congregation Beth Jehudah isn't just a synagogue - it's a way of life. The synagogue itself, located at 3100 North 52nd Street, is a most modest building. But it is far more than a place where religious services take place three times a day. It is the springboard to a wealth of Jewish activity and commitment. It is an open door to those who want to learn more about their religion and grow in their religious practice. And it is an unyielding beacon of classic Jewish ethics and morality in times where so much of what goes around us seems to lack firmness and light is needed so much. Commitment The people of Congregation Beth Jehudah are known for their commitment to learning, charitable work, community service and religious life. Led by their rabbi, Rabbi Michel Twerski, and his son Rabbi Benzion, they have become involved in a wide range of activities that speak to the highest standards of Jewish conduct and ambition. A nursery school, elementary school and kollel (an adult learning center) have achieved vitality in recent years through the leadership of members of Beth Jehudah. Members of the congregation are central figures in activities in the Milwaukee Jewish community to support those who are hungry or in need of shelter and to provide such help as food at Passover. The synagogue and its families are important components in the life of the neighborhood they are part of and its members have played key roles in Sherman Park activities. Individually and as a whole, the people of the shul have built a reputation for welcoming visitors with warmth and reaching out to those who need help. Outreach The congregation is also the home base for the outreach efforts of Rabbi Michel and Rebbetzin Feige Twerski, who have become renowned internationally for their work with people who want to learn about Jewish traditional life. The Twerskis have presented programs and lectures throughout North America and beyond. In addition, tens of thousands of tapes of talks they have given are in circulation throughout the world. The Twerskis have also become known internationally as counselors on difficult personal and religious matters.
